Delta Air Lines to serve Orlando and Los Angeles in the winter as well
Delta Air Lines flights between Schiphol and Orlando or Schiphol and Los Angeles will also be available this winter. The route between Amsterdam and Orlando was launched on 31 March, flying daily. This winter, there will be four flights a week.
New KLM destination: Växjö
14 May saw the launch of a new KLM route to Växjö in Sweden. This city is a new destination for Schiphol as well, the airport’s fourth in Sweden after Stockholm, Gothenburg and Linköping. The route Amsterdam–Växjö is served with daily flights on a KLMcityhopper Embraer-175, seating a maximum of 88 passengers.
KLM increases frequency of flights to Mumbai
This winter, KLM will increase the frequency of flights to Mumbai from three to four a week. The route was launched last October.
Fortaleza launched as new KLM destination
The first KLM flight to Fortaleza in Northeast Brazil took place on 3 May. Fortaleza is KLM's third destination in Brazil after Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. KLM currently serves the route with an A330-200 twice a week but will increase this frequency to three flights a week from July. Fortaleza is a new destination for Schiphol as well.
Norwegian starts New York JFK
Norwegian launched its Amsterdam–New York JFK route on 7 May. There are four flights a week with a Boeing 787-9, which seats 344 passengers. Norwegian has been operating from Schiphol since 2009, flying to four European capitals: Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki.
Transavia launches two new destinations from Schiphol
Transavia is to launch two new destinations from Schiphol next winter: Beirut in Lebanon and Eilat in Israel. Transavia serves both destinations twice a week. Both Beirut and Eilat are new destinations for Schiphol.
