10 June: Schiphol hard to reach due to NS strike and traffic congestion
Last update: 9 June 2025, 12:24, Amsterdam
On Tuesday 10 June there is going to be an NS strike. This will limit train access to Schiphol throughout the day. There will still be four trains per hour between Amsterdam Central, Schiphol and Hoofddorp. We expect that many travellers will use alternative modes of transport, such as car and taxi. This is expected to cause additional traffic congestion on the roads around the airport.
Advice
Be well prepared for your journey and keep a close eye on the latest updates. Check the NS journey planner well in advance of leaving home to see whether it's possible to reach Schiphol by public transportation. We advise you to use alternative modes of transport where possible, such as bus, car or taxi. If necessary, get dropped off at a nearby (bus) station.
If you are coming by car, please take congestion and longer travel times into account. Make sure that you leave on time. When you are at Schiphol, follow the signs and instructions from staff. You can quickly and easily drop travellers off at the Kiss & Ride area or at the P1 car park. You should also park at P1 if you are picking someone up.
