Schiphol’s grid operator
Schiphol Utilities is the grid operator of Schiphol. We ensure that all companies at the airport have access to gas, electricity, drinking water, and fire-fighting water. Additionally, we manage wastewater disposal and offer companies at Schiphol South-East a high-quality central fire-fighting facility (CBV). To do this, we manage and maintain an extensive network of cables, pipelines, and installations.
The energy network in and around Schiphol is regularly expanded with new cables and pipelines. This network is connected to the regional grid operator Liander, and in the future it will also be connected to the national grid of TenneT.
We ensure that companies at Schiphol always have access to energy. Our network transports energy right to the doorstep, delivered by energy suppliers via our network.
The airport receives safe and affordable electricity, gas, and water. This works a bit differently than with an energy supplier, as companies do not choose their grid operator themselves. But we make up for this with excellent service.
