14 October: buses to and from Schiphol may be affected by regional transport strikes.

Last update: October 12, 2026 at 21:08, Amsterdam

From 04:00 on Wednesday 14 October until 04:00 on Thursday 15 October, there will be a nationwide strike affecting regional bus services. As a result, bus services to and from Schiphol may be disrupted or cancelled. Trains will continue to operate, and metro, tram and city bus services will remain available. We expect more travellers to travel to Schiphol by car or taxi. This may result in increased traffic congestion on roads around the airport and longer travel times.

Advice

Make sure you are well prepared and stay informed about the latest travel updates. Plan your journey well in advance on 9292.nl and check the latest travel information from your transport provider shortly before departure. You may also consider alternative transport options such as travelling by car or taxi.

If you are travelling by car, please allow extra travel time and expect heavier traffic. Make sure you leave early. Once at Schiphol, follow the signs and instructions provided by airport staff. If you are dropping someone off, use the Kiss & Ride area or park at P1. If you are picking someone up, please also use P1. As an alternative, you can travel by taxi. Please note that waiting times may be longer than usual due to increased demand for taxi services.
