The colour is garnet-red with ruby thighlights that take on a slightly orange tone over time. It has a clear-cut, intense nose with overtones of vanilla, spices, withered roses and underbrush. The taste is dry, but soft, full-bodied, velvety and wellbalanced, and is very long-lasting.

The vineyard is the oldest estate of the appellation, its origin dates back to 1589. The harvest is manual, then selective sorting, vinification and ageing 16 18 months in barrels with 60% new barrels.
