Welcome to the updated Departure Hall 1. We've worked hard to redevelop and modernise the departure hall over the past few years. By improving the layout and adding a mezzanine floor, more room for security, check-in and waiting areas has been created. Departures 1 is ready for the future.


The redevelopment of Departures 1 means a significant quality upgrade and a lot more space for travellers. Thanks to the new mezzanine, we have 5,000 square metres of extra floor space. That's almost equal to an entire football pitch! We built 21 security lanes on the mezzanine floor – six more than before. All lanes are equipped with state-of-the-art CT scanners that will make the passenger security process quicker and easier.
A 4-metre extension was added, and the extra space was used to create a stairwell and lift to the mezzanine and Panorama Terrace. This means that travellers with only hand baggage no longer need to pass through the check-in area. Travellers with hold baggage can make use of a new stairwell and lift behind check-in.
