The Schiphol Plaza bus station is currently being rebuilt. To enable the next phase of construction, a number of bus stops will be relocated. The temporary stops can be found directly behind the current bus station and will ensure that bus traffic can continue during the renovation. The temporary stops will be put into use on 15 June.
Some buses will be arriving and departing from different locations than travellers are used to. The new locations are indicated by signage and information at the bus stops. The renovation of the bus station is part of the MHS (Multimodal Hub Schiphol) project, which involves revamping public transport facilities at Schiphol. The redevelopment of the bus station at Schiphol is a collaboration between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Schiphol, ProRail, NS, and the Amsterdam Transport Authority.
BAM is the contractor carrying out all the work. The new bus station will have one large platform island with canopy and 20 bus stops, providing more space for buses. There will also be more space for passengers to wait comfortably for the bus. Three new stairways will soon connect the bus station directly to the train platforms below, making it easier for travellers to switch between trains and buses. There will also be a new bicycle shed with space for about 500 bicycles, where travellers and staff can park their bikes.
The work activities may cause some inconvenience. We ask for your understanding on this.
