No pier without permits
Building the new pier and terminal at Schiphol involves an awful lot of paperwork. Jeanine Mocking is the permits coordinator and ensures that everything is applied for and sorted on time.

Schiphol is working on a new, modern pier that is expected to be operational in 2027. The new pier will contribute to a better travel experience at Schiphol, offering travellers more space, comfort and amenities.
Travellers will soon benefit from spacious waiting areas, plenty of natural light, greenery, art and a wide range of seating and facilities.
This new pier is part of a wider renovation project at Schiphol and provides room to gradually renew and improve other parts of the airport.
The traveller experience is central to the design of the new pier. It will feature, among other things:
In the construction of the new pier, we are focusing on sustainable solutions, such as solar panels, sustainable materials and a climate facade (double facade), thermal energy storage and rainwater for flushing toilets.


The new pier is expected to be put into use in 2027.
