To provide all buildings, offices and facilities on the Schiphol site with reliable power, we are not only expanding our electricity grid. We are renewing and building distribution stations to ensure that the power is also distributed.

Distribution stations ensure that electricity entering via the high-voltage substations is converted and safely distributed across Schiphol's power grid. From these stations, the power reaches all parts of the airport – from terminals and offices to logistics buildings and support facilities.
Existing distribution stations are being replaced or expanded, and we are also building five new distribution stations. These will be distributed across the entire site, from north to south and from east to west. In this way, we ensure that the expansion of the power grid aligns well with the development of Schiphol as a whole.
The distribution stations will be connected to both the 10 kV network of the Schiphol Centre station and the 20 kV network of the South-East station. This makes the energy grid more robust and flexible. We are also taking more sustainable and modular solutions into account in the design and construction, so that the stations are ready for future adaptations and growth.
