Central security checks take place in all departure halls, and at two points for transfer passengers. These checks are designed for passenger comfort and efficiency, but also to comply with EU-mandated legislation.
Premium passengers are important to airlines and to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. To give these passengers excellent service, we offer priority entryways to reduce their waiting time.
There are strict EU-mandated rules that apply to liquids and gels in hand luggage, whether brought from home or bought at Schiphol.
As of 1 March 2024, the Safety & Security Pocket guide is no longer available. In preparation for the Safety & Security test to obtain a Schiphol pass, e-learning(s) are available in the Schiphol Learning Hub.
On this page, you can download a series of security maps.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol uses the security scanner in its security checks of both passengers and staff. The person being screened walks into the security scanner and stands with their arms raised. Within two seconds, the scanner will check whether the person has any suspicious objects on their body.
