Right now, Schiphol is hard at work on a plan of action to reduce noise disturbance. We will consult with you in late 2019-early 2020 about our Implementation Plan for Reduction of Noise Disturbance. We are interested in what you think of the measures taken and whether it will contribute to a more pleasant living environment for you.

Achieving balance between the benefit and burden

As a resident in the area surrounding Schiphol, you know what it is like to live close to an international airport. On one hand, you have the world at your feet and possibly an income from Schiphol. On the other hand, you may also experience noise disturbances, which is the burden of air traffic. Schiphol and its partners are now hard at work on an action plan for noise disturbance reduction.

Implementation plan Nuisance reduction

The action plan will be created in collaboration with Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (LVNL), KLM, other airlines and sector partners. These measures aim to reduce noise pollution and improve the living environment. The action plan includes many suggestions that were received from the Regional Forum, among other institutions. In addition, we examine the top 20 complaints that were submitted to the Schiphol Local Contact Point (aka BAS). The results of various discussions held with residents and administrators in recent months across the Schiphol region will also be taken into consideration.

We will discuss the measures with you as soon as the draft is ready. Announcements will follow in the newsletter for Schiphol residents and on this website.
