Traffic Review 2022

Schiphol connects the Netherlands with the rest of the world and vice versa. In 2022, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on air traffic gradually faded away. The recovery in passenger air travel was more rapid and airlines added more destinations and capacity. The total number of destinations to and from Schiphol, including passenger and/or cargo services, grew from 296 destinations in 2021 to 313 destinations in 2022. Schiphol welcomed 52.5 million passengers in 2022 (up 105.8% year-on-year). The airport recorded a total of 397,646 air transport movements (ATMs), an increase of 17.4% compared with 2021. Total cargo volumes at Schiphol amounted to 1.44 million tonnes in 2022 (a decrease of 13.8 % year-on-year). More in depth statistical details are available in the Annual Traffic Review.
