'Exemption from the Prohibition on Digging': Only dig with an exemption
The land on which Schiphol is built contains a huge number of cables and pipelines. They are all essential for the business operations at our airport. For this reason, we make every effort to prevent them from being damaged. Parties who are required to dig at the airport also share this responsibility. The following therefore applies to all activities: only dig with an 'Exemption from the Prohibition on Digging'.
Golden Rule 10: I only do excavation work with an exemption from the prohibition on digging
- Follow the instructions in the ‘Exemption from the Prohibition on Digging’.
- Make test trenches where necessary.
- Ensure you are appropriately supervised when working on decontamination and Unexploded Ordnances (UXOs).
