The Schiphol Fund helps associations and sports clubs in the Schiphol area maintain their value to the community and encourage more people to take part in sporting and social activities. In the second donation round of 2026, a total of more than €100,000 was awarded to 25 sports clubs.
The Schiphol Fund was established in 1994 with the aim of supporting sports and physical activity in the Schiphol region. The fund receives an annual donation from the airport and uses it to support projects that focus on physical exercise and sport.

The donations help clubs purchase sports equipment that promotes physical activity. Two associations each received a contribution of €10,000 – AKU Athletics Club from Uithoorn for the purchase of a second long jump pit, and R.S.V.U. Okeanos from Amsterdam for the purchase of a new boat. Other donations supported the purchase of a balance beam, artificial turf for a golf course, badminton rackets and swim fins for a diving club.
‘Sport brings people, neighbourhoods and generations together,’ explains Teun de Nooijer. The former hockey player and two-time Olympic champion with the Dutch national hockey team serves on the fund’s board. ‘Through the Schiphol Fund, we are pleased to support sports clubs. They bring people together, promote health and strengthen community involvement.’
The Schiphol Fund organises four donation rounds each year for initiatives that promote physical activity and social connection. The large number of applications received shows how important the fund is for sports clubs in the Schiphol area.
