Ministry of I&W asks for views on fast-tracked amendment to Airport Traffic Decree

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (I&W) has published a draft amendment to the current Airport Traffic Decree (LVB). It proposes to set the maximum number of flights at Schiphol at 478,000 per year.

Back in December, the government announced its intention to aim for a maximum of 478,000 flight movements at Schiphol as part of a new package of measures under the so-called Balanced Approach procedure .This procedure is needed to reduce noise nuisance around Schiphol and establish the legal position of local residents.

Fast-tracked amendment

In anticipation of the completion of the procedure, the government has chosen to already introduce a fast-tracked amendment to the current LVB. Interested parties can submit their views on this proposal until 31 March. This process is organised entirely by the Ministry of I&W. More information on the proposed amendment and how to submit an opinion can be found on the website of the Ministry of I&W (in Dutch).
