Do you live near Schiphol, and do you have an idea that could improve the living environment and contribute to the enjoyment of living in your community? Now you can turn to the new Schiphol Environmental Fund. You can read all about it in this article.

The Schiphol Environmental Fund finances initiatives that ensure a better living environment around Schiphol. As an airport, it's important for us to find a good balance with the environment. That's why we are making €10 million available every year for at least the next 7 years.
Residents, municipalities, associations and foundations in the vicinity of Schiphol can contact the Environmental Fund for a contribution to the financing of their plan. They work closely with these parties to assess all needs and find a place for them in the fund's programmes. Examples of projects include the construction of a playground or park, the provision of recreational opportunities and the renovation of a community centre.

The Schiphol Environmental Fund also helps individual residents who could use some support but who do not qualify for a legal arrangement. The fund also contributes to research into innovations and new technological developments, such as new sound insulation techniques.
The Environmental Fund is a continuation of the Schiphol Living Environment Foundation. It is an independent foundation with its own board and Supervisory Board. The fund is led by Cees van Boven, former chairman of the board at Woonzorg Nederland. Ron Louwerse and Jeroen Galle are the other board members. Members of the Supervisory Board include Pieter van Oord (CEO of Royal Schiphol Group) and Esther Rommel (chairman of the Schiphol Administrative Region).
