Disruption and traffic measures

The works will cause traffic disruption in the Schiphol South-East area. To ensure safety and traffic flow as much as possible, the following measures will be taken:

  • Implementation of a general diversion route for the entire area;
  • Temporary traffic measures and adjustments to the traffic situation;
  • The use of traffic management measures to limit congestion as much as possible, including a buffer location for trucks to prevent unnecessary truck parking on the side of the road.

Despite these measures, disruption is unavoidable. Road users are advised to take additional travel time into account.

Reducing traffic congestion

In addition to diversion routes, active measures will be taken to reduce traffic congestion. The measures are:

  • Informing aircraft handling companies and other major users of the area;
  • Use of P80 for passenger vehicles of companies located at Anchoragelaan North, combined with frequent shuttle service along bus stops Ganderweg, Shannonweg and P80;
  • Monitoring and managing unnecessary truck parking on the Anchoragelaan, managed by traffic controllers and a designated buffer location for trucks.
