Update on COVID-19, Week 47: Operations Department Announcements

Week 47

Per letter to the parliament, the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport has announced intended changes to COVID-19 measures for passengers. For example: The Minister is investigating if it is possible to have arriving passengers tested on day 5 of their quarantine in The Netherlands, shortening their quarantine. This measure is deemed to be implemented per half January 2021.

In addition, the Minister is looking at possibilities to demand that passengers arriving from high risk countries, provide negative test results from a test conducted within 48 hours before arrival. The Ministry is aiming to implement this regulation for all passengers from ‘3rd countries’. This is deemed to be implemented per half December 2020. For EU-citizens a similar measure is expected. However, as this warrants changes in legislation, this will probably not be implemented before spring 2021.

Mandatory health declaration goes digital

In addition to the hardcopy printout version of the mandatory health declaration, the Ministry of Health has published a fillable .pdf version of the health declaration for passengers. This way there is no more need to print the form, passengers can save it on their mobile phone or handheld device, saving paper in the process.

Passengers can find the document on the website of the Netherlands government under document 4/12 and 7/12 on the page.
