Technology forms the basis of Schiphol’s success. The airport’s processes must run 24/7 and that is only possible with state-of-the-art technology. That’s why we invest heavily in our technical resources. We have our own ultra-high quality energy network, for example, so we can act quickly in the event of an emergency. Technical failure is simply not an option at Schiphol.
From runways to baggage systems
The airport is also unique in other technical areas. Take the runways, roads, baggage systems, fire safety installations and, of course, the terminal itself, for example. As an engineer at Schiphol you’ll work in a wide range of highly complex and diverse fields. We expect you to be vigilant at all times and to take an innovative approach.
As an engineer, we expect you to excel in your own specialist field and, at the same time, to show an interest in other disciplines. We have a huge technical field to cover with relatively few people, so you must enjoy working with other specialists. In this context, the interests of the airport, and, as a result, of the passenger, always come first.
