News: Zwanenburgbaan to be deployed more often due to maintenance on Polderbaan

From Monday 10 to Friday 14 October, the Polderbaan Runway is undergoing maintenance. Primarily the Zwanenburgbaan and Buitenveldertbaan runways are going to be used more frequently as a result. Air traffic will make use of the Zwanenburgbaan Runway at night. Over the course of these 5 days, the Schiphol-Oostbaan may also be used as a secondary runway for landing.

Weather conditions and availability

Which runways are deployed during this period of maintenance on the Polderbaan Runway depends on a variety of factors, including the weather conditions (showers, wind direction and speed), runway availability and air traffic volumes. If you have any questions about air traffic while these works are being carried out on the Polderbaan Runway, please contact the Local Community Contact Centre (BAS). You can reach them via their website bezoekbas.nl, or by calling them on 020 601 5555.

Planned works

The Polderbaan Runway will be undergoing maintenance for five days and is therefore not available to air traffic. These works include repairing the asphalt, refreshing the markings, and cleaning and replacing the lights. We will also be checking the cabling and electrics, carrying out repairs where necessary. Furthermore, the grass will be cut, and we'll be flushing the rainwater drainage systems if needed. We carry out runway maintenance in collaboration with construction company Heijmans.
