News: Participate in research into noise-cancelling windows

Would you like to take part in research into how smart windows can essentially block aircraft noise? Sign up with DeNoize now. The Delft-based start-up is developing a smart window system which ensures that less noise – for example from road traffic or aircraft – enters your home.

In order to further develop this window technology, DeNoize would first like to know how Schiphol’s neighbours experience noise in their homes. A study has been set up that will enable you to simulate the sounds you hear at home under normal circumstances in your own living room. 200 households are needed for this research. Are you interested? The study begins at the start of October. You can take part remotely using your own computer, tablet or telephone and it takes around 30 minutes.

Update: Signing up is no longer possible.

Comparing noise

Once this phase of the research is complete, DeNoize will carry out objective assessments of noise levels in homes. This will only take place once air traffic has increased again. The ultimate goal is to compare the results and find out what the smart window technology should focus on.

Schiphol supports DeNoize because we see the potential in this innovation that could make a positive contribution to the quality of life of local residents around the airport.
