News: Notifly app update: improved map and flight information

Schiphol and more than 1,400 neighbours are busy testing Notify – the app that predicts air traffic around the airport. We receive feedback on a daily basis and use this to make the app even more aligned with the needs and wants of local residents. An update of the application was launched today. It includes, among other things, extra flight information and more accurate predictions.

Extra flight information

The most notable feature of the new version of Notifly is the detailed flight information. The app shows you which flight is overhead, the type of aircraft, whether it is a passenger or cargo flight, the destination or where it came from, and which runway it took off from or which runway it will land on. It is also possible to use the app to report nuisance you experienced resulting from a specific flight.

Improved predictions

The forecasting model Notify uses to show where and when you can expect air traffic has also been improved. It is even more accurate because the model now combines flight schedule information along with other data like radar data and information about the wind and other weather conditions (KNMI). Do you want to look at a flight that has already passed by? That's also possible in Notifly.

Testing and feedback

Do you want to test Notifly and give us feedback too? You can still sign up at Schiphol.nl/Notifly. Once we have completed the test phase and the app is fully up and running, you will be able to download it and use it for free. We'll be keeping you up to date on all the latest developments.
