News: Less noise disturbance in Bodegraven, Gouda and Reeuwijk due to changed flight path

Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (LVNL) announced that the flight route from the Kaagbaan runway will be modified at the end of this year. It now runs close to Bodegraven, Gouda and Reeuwijk. If the departure routes are switched to the east, then planes will then be far beyond the inhabited areas. That means there will be a reduction in noise disturbance to local residents by air traffic.

Implementation will take place in December 2020. This measure was developed in collaboration with the Omgevingsraad Schiphol (Schiphol Environmental Council), at the request of the Bodegraven-Reeuwijk Municipality. By shifting the flight path, aircraft no longer pass Bodegraven and fly further east of Reeuwijk-Brug and Gouda, which also reduces noise disturbances there. The shifted flight path is part of the reduction of noise disturbance measures that you will find on minderhinderschiphol.nl (Dutch only).

Good cooperation with residents

'LVNL is continuing to make efforts to reduce noise and emissions in the vicinity of Schiphol, even during a time when traffic supply has been greatly reduced by the corona pandemic', said Michiel van Dorst, CEO LVNL. 'The design and decision-making process involved good, close cooperation with residents and administrators. I am happy that we can implement this route this year. That way, we will ensure a reduction in noise disturbances for residents as quickly as possible.'
