At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, the elevators and some escalators were renewed at Schiphol Airport Station. These activities are part of the Train work package of the Multimodal Hub Schiphol (MKS) project. The next phase will start from the September and will be completed in April 2024. The moving walkways between Plaza and the train platforms will be replaced by fixed stairs.

These adjustments will improve the passenger flow at the station. The renovations are necessary so that train passengers can use an improved Schiphol Airport Station in the future.
Normally, ProRail carries out as much work as possible during holiday periods. But at Schiphol Airport, these are the busiest times of the year. The large-scale renovation work on the Schiphol railway tunnel and the Multimodal Hub Schiphol project will therefore only be carried out in the first three and last three months of the year. We plan as much as possible outside the holiday periods so that the airport remains accessible for travellers as much as possible.
