News: Good-bye stickers, hello tiles

In line with our focus on sustainability, we at Schiphol have given consideration to the signposting at parking stands for baggage trolleys and courtesy vehicles. Stickers on the floor, which wear out after a time, will no longer be used on the modernised piers – tiles will be used instead. Much neater, and much more sustainable.

The small baggage trolleys and the courtesy vehicles for people to drive around are an essential part of the airport. There are currently stickers – mostly worn out – on the floor that help you locate them if you need one. To change this, we have come up with a new concept for the signposting at parking stands for baggage trolleys and courtesy vehicles. Instead of the old stickers, we are now using tiles to mark the parking stands.

Sustainable solution

The new concept is not just much more sustainable, but also neater. Why? Because stickers quickly wear out. For signage purposes, we are using the standard tiles that are found all over the piers, but with an image on them. These tiles will be used on piers D to G.
