Extra assistance at Schiphol: Changes to our service

Are you travelling via Schiphol and do you need assistance? We’d like to inform you of several changes to our services due to the coronavirus safety measures that are in place.

  • The safety and welfare of our passengers and employees are top priority at Schiphol. It goes without saying that we take all measures related to COVID-19 into account and keep the equipment we use to assist you extra clean. If we assist you on your journey, we’ll maintain extra distance whenever possible. Whatever the circumstances, we are always happy to help.

  • Are you coming to the Assistance Desk after checking in? We kindly ask that the people who brought you to the airport leave the area after you have been signed in. In order for us to give each other space, only one chaperone can be present.

  • During the boarding process, we wait until the passenger bridge is empty. That way, we can make sure that we are able to keep distance from other passengers.

  • Because of the coronavirus measures, a limited number of passengers can be transported in our vehicles on the platform at the same time. As a result, we may need to drive to and from the aircraft a number of times. We ask for your understanding.

  • We kindly request that you wear a face mask at the airport. This means that you wear a face mask from the moment you enter the terminal. Or, if you have just landed, that you keep your face mask on until you are outside the airport.

  • Of course, our employees also wear face masks and gloves. When we need to do lifting, we also wear a protective suit. We do this in compliance with RIVM guidelines. Our employees clean used equipment and items after each use.

  • Are you arriving at Schiphol by plane? We kindly ask that you wait until all other passengers have disembarked. Our employees will come and pick you up from your seat or the aircraft door to accompany you. Make sure that the crew knows that you are getting extra assistance; our employees discuss the number of PRM passengers with the crew and whether this number matches the airline's issued schedule.
