Extra assistance at Schiphol: Changes to our service
Are you travelling via Schiphol and do you need assistance? We’d like to inform you of several changes to our services due to the coronavirus safety measures that are in place.
The safety and welfare of our passengers and employees are top priority at Schiphol. It goes without saying that we take all measures related to COVID-19 into account and keep the equipment we use to assist you extra clean. If we assist you on your journey, we’ll maintain a 1.5-metre distance whenever possible. Whatever the circumstances, we are always happy to help.
Are you coming to the Assistance Desk after checking in? We kindly ask that the people who brought you to the airport leave the area after you have been signed in. In order for us to maintain a 1.5-metre distance, only one chaperone can be present.
During the boarding process, we wait until the passenger bridge is empty. That way, we can make sure that we are able to keep a distance of 1.5 metres from other passengers.
Because of the coronavirus measures, a limited number of passengers can be transported in our vehicles on the platform at the same time. As a result, we may need to drive to and from the aircraft a number of times. We ask for your understanding.
We kindly ask that you wear a face mask at the airport. This has been mandatory since 1 December.
Of course, our employees also wear face masks and gloves. When we need to do lifting, we also wear a protective suit. We do this in compliance with RIVM guidelines. Our employees clean used equipment and items after each use.
Are you arriving at Schiphol by plane? We kindly ask that you wait until all other passengers have disembarked. Our employees will be at the ready to help you. Make sure that the crew knows that you are getting extra assistance; our employees discuss the number of PRM passengers with the crew.
You can always reach us at the phone posts and the Assistance Desks at Schiphol. Will you be at the airport between 21:30 and 5:00 and do you require assistance during these hours? Make a request by calling 020-2065411.
