Public transport strike 28 May: Check live traffic information

Last update: 28 May 2019, 17:59, Amsterdam

Due to the public transport strike no buses and trains are running in the Netherlands today. Many people travel by car or taxi to and from Schiphol Airport. The roads around the airport will continue to be busy. There is very limited train traffic between Hoofddorp, Schiphol, Amsterdam Lelylaan, Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Amsterdam Central Station. This train runs four times an hour.

If you’re flying from or to Schiphol Airport today, please contact your airline for more information. Due to the situation on the roads, please take account for some extra time for your journey by car or taxi.

Please note that we still advise you not to travel to Schiphol unless it is strictly necessary.

Advice

Please contact your airline to check your flight status. If you’re travelling by car, taxi or Uber, please try carpooling or share your ride.

To all drivers, pick-ups and drop-offs: if you are driving from Amsterdam on the A4, take exit Schiphol. If you are driving from Leiden on the A4, please pay attention to the signs and follow the instructions. Traffic will be managed by traffic controllers at Schiphol. Check live traffic information (Dutch only) before you depart.
