What is Schiphol Smart Parking?

Schiphol Smart Parking is a product offered by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol that offers long-term parking at economical rates.
The parking facilities can be accessed with a credit card or access code.

What booking conditions apply to Schiphol Smart Parking?

Applicable conditions:
- Can only be reserved by holders of a credit card or payment through iDEAL. Reservations must be made at least one week in advance (an ‘early bird’ discount applies to bookings made four weeks in advance)

- Parking spaces can be booked on www.schiphol.nl/parking.

- You can enter and exit the parking facility using number plate recognition, your credit card or a 6-digit access code*.

What do I do if Schiphol Smart Parking is full?

Schiphol Smart Parking offers parking at economical rates. The limited number of spaces are available on a first come, first served basis. If Smart Parking is full, we recommend choosing another parking product, such as Park & Travel 3 - reserved. Reservations can be made on www.schiphol.nl/parking.

When can I book Schiphol Smart Parking?

You must book at least one week in advance on www.schiphol.nl/parking.

To be eligible for an ‘early bird’ discount you must book four weeks in advance. You can reserve a parking space with Smart Parking as early as six months before your departure date.

How far in advance can I alter or cancel Schiphol Smart Parking?

You can alter or cancel your reservation up to seven days before commencement of your reservation. No fees apply to changes, but if you extend your reservation you will be charged for each additional day. Cancellations are subject to a EUR 10 administrative fee.

Where can I park with a Schiphol Smart Parking reservation?

Schiphol Smart Parking users park at Park & Travel 3 (previously P3), which is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol’s long-term parking facility.

In peak periods we may refer you to P4 or P5. These parking facilities are close to Park & Travel 3, where you can board the shuttle bus for the departure hall. If we know this in advance we will inform you by email in good time.

How can I enter Schiphol Smart Parking with my reservation?

When you book a parking space, please select your preferred access method. You can either enter the parking facility with a credit card or a 6-digit access code.

Credit card:
If you selected ‘Credit Card’ as your access method, please follow the steps below:

- When entering, insert your credit card into the card reader at the barrier. NB.: You must use THE SAME credit card you used when making the reservation.
- If your credit card does not work, do not take a parking ticket but request assistance via the intercom. Make sure you have your booking confirmation on hand.
- When you return you will not need to go to the payment machine; you can exit immediately using your credit card. If you have exceeded the reservation period the additional costs will be debited automatically when you exit the parking facility.

Access and/or Digi code:
If you selected ‘Access code’ as your access method, please follow the steps below:

- Enter your 6-digit access code in the self-service station at the barrier. Press ‘OK’.
- The machine will issue you a special parking ticket (your reservation has been recognised). After you take your ticket, the barrier will open after a few seconds. If you are not issued a parking ticket, request assistance via the intercom. Make sure you have your booking confirmation on hand.
- When you return you will not need to go to the payment machine; you can exit immediately after inserting your parking ticket provided you exit the parking facility within the reservation period. If you extend your parking stay the additional parking fee must first be paid at a payment machine or cash register.
- Within seconds of inserting your ticket into the card reader the barrier will be raised.

Licence plate recognition:
- If you selected ‘Licence plate recognition’ as your entry method, please follow the steps below:

- On entering, your licence plate will be recognised within a few seconds and you will be issued with a parking ticket automatically (your reservation has been recognised). It is essential that your licence plate is clearly visible and that your car is parked right in front of the barrier.
- The barrier will open a few seconds after you have taken your parking ticket.
- If you are not issued with a parking ticket, please request assistance via the intercom. Make sure you have your booking confirmation on hand.
- When you return you will not need to go to the payment machine; you can exit immediately after inserting your parking ticket provided you exit the parking facility within the reservation period. If you exceed the reservation period the additional parking fee must first be paid at a payment machine or in cash.

Has a special section of the parking facility been reserved for Smart Parking?

No special sections are reserved for Smart Parking. You can park your car wherever you like at Park & Travel 3, or P4 and P5 if you are referred there (loading and unloading zones excepted).

I booked Schiphol Smart Parking and am also a Privium member. Am I eligible to park at the Privium section of Park & Travel 3?

No, it is technically impossible to use your Privium card for a Schiphol Smart Parking reservation.

How is transport arranged from the parking facility to the departure halls?

The free shuttle bus leaves every ten minutes for the departure hall, 24 hours a day. The bus stops at the entrance to the parking facility and will drop you off directly in front of Departures. The bus stop taking you to the parking facility when you return is directly in front of Arrivals.

Can I also use Schiphol Smart Parking for short-term parking at Business Parking P1 or P2?

No, you cannot use Schiphol Smart Parking for short-term parking. Alternative short-term parking products can be ordered at www.schiphol.nl/parking.
