What is Schiphol Smart Parking?

Schiphol Smart Parking is a product offered by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for parking at P3 Long-term Parking at reduced rates.

Reservations are not required, but you need to book a parking space online to be assured of the low reservation rate. Reservations can be made up to 1 day in advance, for two days or longer. The earlier you book, the greater the discount.

If you do not have a reservation, you will need to take a parking card at the barrier. If you do have a reservation, you can obtain access to the car park with a credit card or licence plate recognition.

What booking conditions apply to Schiphol Smart Parking?

You must book Schiphol Smart Parking at least 1 day in advance and pay via iDEAL or credit card.

Changes to the parking period and/or cancellations can be made up to 1 day prior to departure. Changing your reservation is free, but a €5 fee is charged for cancellations. In the event of changes, any excess amounts paid will be refunded. Of course, any additional days must be paid for. If you park for longer than the time reserved, €10 is charged for each additional day.

If you have booked through a travel agent, please contact your travel agent to change/cancel parking reservations.

What do I do if Schiphol Smart Parking is no longer available?

If it is no longer possible to book Schiphol Smart Parking online, alternative parking products are available. Even if you don't have a reservation, you can still park at P3. However, you will pay the extended parking rate, instead of the low reservation rate.

How close to departure can I reserve Schiphol Smart Parking?

You must book at least 1 day in advance. During peak times, such as school holidays, you should book well ahead of time. The earlier you book, the greater the discount.

I don't know yet exactly when my flight will depart and arrive. Can I change the entry and exit times later?

Yes. Reservations can be made up to 1 day before departure. If you book your space before knowing your precise entry and exit times, just leave the default times as they are. A daily rate is charged for Schiphol Smart Parking. As long as the dates are the same you do not need to adjust the times.

How far in advance can I change or cancel Schiphol Smart Parking?

You can change or cancel your reservation up to 1 day before departure. In the event of changes, any excess amounts paid will be refunded. Of course, any additional days must be paid for.

There is no fee for changing reservations, but a fee of €5 is charged for cancellations.

If you have booked through a travel agent, please contact your travel agent to change/cancel parking reservations.

What is the minimum length of time I can park at Schiphol Smart Parking?

You must book Schiphol Smart Parking for at least 2 days.

What is the maximum length of time I can park at Schiphol Smart Parking?

Schiphol Smart Parking can be booked for up to 90 days. Written permission is required for longer periods.

What happens if I park for longer than the time I booked?

If you park for longer than the time reserved, €10 is charged for each additional day.

Where can I park with a Schiphol Smart Parking reservation?

You will park at P3 Long-term Parking. P3 is the long-term car park at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Postal address: Holiday Avenue, 1118 ZG Schiphol.

How can I enter Schiphol Smart Parking with my reservation?

When you make your reservation you will be asked to choose an access method: either your credit card or licence plate recognition.

Access with credit card
Did you select ‘credit card’ as your access method? Then you must use the same credit card to access the car park as you did for your reservation. Insert your credit card into the card reader at the barrier. The barrier will open automatically when you remove your card. When exiting, you do not need to go to the payment machine but can exit immediately using your credit card. If you have exceeded your reserved parking period the additional costs will be debited automatically when you exit the car park.

Access with licence plate recognition
Did you select ‘licence plate recognition’ as your access method? Drive up to the barrier. Your licence plate will be read. Wait until the card reader issues your parking card. This occurs automatically, but it may take several seconds. Take care not to lose it, as you will need it upon exiting.

I don't know my licence plate number (yet) and I have no credit card. Which access method should I choose?

Select licence place recognition and enter an ‘X’ in the number field in order to continue. Don't forget to enter the actual licence plate number in time via ‘My reservation’.

How is transportation arranged from the parking facility to the departure halls?

A free Schiphol Parking shuttle bus leaves for the departure halls every ten minutes, 24 hours a day. The shuttle bus will take you to your departure hall in just 5 minutes. The bus stop for returning passengers is directly in front of Schiphol Plaza at stop 5.

Is a special section of the parking facility reserved for Smart Parking?

No special section is reserved for Schiphol Smart Parking. You can park anywhere you wish at P3 Long-term Parking.

Can I also use Schiphol Smart Parking for short-term parking at P1 or P2?

No, Schiphol Smart Parking is available at P3 Long-term Parking only and is not offered for less than 2 days, so parking at P1 or P2 is not allowed. Instead, you can make a reservation for Schiphol Terminal Parking.

Can I use the P3 multi-storey car park without a reservation?

Yes. If you do not have reservation, the extended rate will apply.

What are the parking rates at the P3 multi-storey car park?

The additional fee may vary for advance online bookings. So the earlier you make a reservation, the more you save on parking. If you do not have reservation, an additional €10 is charged.

I would like to switch my reservation from the P3 multi-storey car park to the Smart Parking P3 car park.

You can change your reservation free of charge at ‘My reservation’.

I would like to switch my reservation from the Smart Parking P3 car park to the P3 multi-storey car park.

I am a Privium Plus member, do I have to make a reservation?

No, you don't. There is always space for Privium Plus members in the separate Privium area at the front of P3 Long-term Parking.

I booked Schiphol Smart Parking and am also a Privium member. Am I eligible to park in the Privium section of P3 Long-term Parking?

No, you cannot. You can, however, make a reservation for Schiphol Privium Parking P3. Then you can park at the front of P3 Long-term Parking in the restricted Privium area.
