The Floating Dutchman

Want to travel by bus from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam and take a canal tour of the city without even leaving the bus? You can, with the Floating Dutchman!

We invite you to go on a 2¾-hour excursion by amphibious bus. This means that, not only can the bus drive on the roads, it can drive on water, too! The bus will take you from Schiphol to its special ‘dive zone’ in the Oosterdok, beside NEMO. Here, the bus will ‘dive’ into the water for an oh-so-peaceful tour of the canals of Amsterdam.

The Floating Dutchman sails past many of the famous sights of Amsterdam. From the water you will have a great view of the NEMO Science Centre, the Maritime Museum, the river Amstel including the Magere Brug and, on the way back, you will sail past the Hermitage Museum. The bus will finally emerge from the water when it reaches NEMO and take you back to Schiphol Airport.
A guide will be available during the excursion to give a helpful commentary in two languages (Dutch and English).

So, a lovely outing, departing from Schiphol!
The Floating Dutchman may also be of interest to passengers boarding transfer flights who are in possession of a valid visa for the Netherlands.
