Schiphol challenges market to contribute ideas for the tendering process and construction of a new pier and terminal

Schiphol is challenging future partners and suppliers to contribute ideas for the construction of a new pier and terminal on the south side of the airport as well as the associated tendering process. The market consultation will take place on Thursday, 11 September 2014.
Renewing to retain top ranking
The number of passengers at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is expected to grow from 52.5 million to around 65 million over the course of the next decade. To offer passengers travel comfort and convenience and guarantee the airlines an efficient travel process in the future, Schiphol began implementing its Masterplan in 2013. The plan entails the introduction of central security, the renewal of Lounge 2 and the construction of a new pier and terminal facilities. This investment in quality and capacity will enable Schiphol to achieve its ambition to be and remain Europe's Preferred Airport.
Dialogue with the market about renewal and the tendering process
During the market consultation, Schiphol will explain the challenges and ambitions involved in constructing the new pier and terminal facilities. Traditional solutions and approaches are no longer adequate. New and innovative answers resulting in smarter, sustainable, safe and less expensive solutions are required. Schiphol challenges national and international suppliers to contribute ideas on the construction and tendering process for the new pier and terminal.
