CEVA Logistics access to airside at Schiphol
Schiphol’s strategy allows freight forwarders to have airside access, either through a partnership with a ground handling company or a self-owned dedicated warehouse with airside access. J. van de Put Fresh Cargo handling was the first freight forwarder that stepped into a partnership with a ground handling company, also Menzies, almost four years ago.
CEVA Logistics’ arrival is an integral step towards realizing Schiphol-Southeast's goal of developing into a center for forwarding agents and logistics service providers. By having facilities with direct apron access, these companies will be able to take full control of their own air cargo handling activities. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is a frontrunner in this arena, which only serves to strengthen its position as a European cargo mainport.
Besides partnership with a handling company Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
offers also Logistics Service
Providers direct access to
airside. Panalpina is the proud pioneer (June 2009) followed by Rhenus Logistics (October 2010) in these developments by opening their own building on airside.
