Schiphol is expressly seeking to collaborate with market players and knowledge institutes through joint ventures for the purpose of finding solutions. We work on the principle of ‘Open Innovation’: Research & Development is mainly carried out by our partners.

Open Innovation
The aim of Security in Progress is ‘Open Innovation’, which is based on the principle that an organisation cannot solely rely on its own research to be successful. It goes further than that: sharing innovations will considerably improve the chances of achieving success.

Under the direction of Schiphol, Research & Development will be outsourced to its partners who, in turn, are able to use Schiphol as a proving ground and as an environment in which to develop and present their showcases.

Security Innovation Days
Every year, Schiphol organises Security Innovation Days on which occasion market players and knowledge institutes are given the opportunity to present their ideas to Schiphol, either in the form of a draft or a detailed operational solution.
