IPHANDLERS awarded AEO certification
Schiphol-based perishables handler IPHANDLERS has received AEO (Authorised Econimic Operator) certification after less than a year in business. Caroline van Dijk, Customer Management Team Leader of Schiphol Customs, presented the AEO certificate to Mark Loos, the company’s Operations Director.
Achieving Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status indicates that a business complies with set safety standards, its processes are transparent and the internal control system meets the required quality level. This is to the advantage of the applicant’s customers, who gain the benefit of a fast and secure flow of goods with minimised administration.
Says Mark Loos: "We are very happy with the result, and proud that we have achieved the certification process in such a short time. Since the start of the company in June 2013 there has been continuous work to improve safety and processes in order to offer our customers the most efficient supply chain possible. AEO certification is an additional incentive to keep working on continuous improvement of the efficiency and quality of our services. "
The IPHandlers facility is close to Schiphol Airport and the FloraHolland giant flower auction complex. It comprises 10,000 sq m of zoned temperature-controlled storage, with three vacuum coolers and a phyto-sanitary inspection room.
