Schiphol Cargo participates in ACI North America Air Cargo Conference
Schiphol participated in the ACI North America 2011 Air Cargo Conference in Washington.
The programme included a session on Air Cargo Security during which the latest developments in Air Cargo Security were discussed with the TSA and Transport Canada Security.
E-freight was a main topic, and a panel discussion with key airlines focused on the airport’s requirements in this context. Whilst it was clear that Schiphol provides high-quality facilities, the upcoming changes in the security processes demand our full attention. All issues that were identified can however be incorporated into our Smart Gate programme so it looks that we are ready to deal with any upcoming changes.
Schiphol presented its business model for Cargo, which was highly appreciated. It is clear that Cargo is not yet the key area of business it should be at many North American airports and the interest in the Schiphol approach was considerable.
