Jos Nijhuis joins the Board of the Logistics Strategic Platform


Jos Nijhuis, president of Schiphol Group, has joined the Board of the Logistics Strategic Platform, a body set up to reinforce the Dutch logistics sector in a joint effort with the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management.

The composition of the Board of the Strategic Logistics Platform was announced on 4 November. The Board members, chaired by former KLM president Leo van Wijk, include Jos Nijhuis (president of Schiphol Group), TLN CEO Alexander Sakkers (Vice Chairman), Hans Smits (CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority), Timo Huges (CEO of FloraHolland), Rutger van Slobbe, Aad Veenman, Wando Boevé (ECT) and Jan Fransoo. Representing the logistics business community, the Strategic Logistics Platform aims to work with the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management towards strengthening the position of Dutch logistics through a process of dialogue and consultation on the future of the sector. As such, the Platform will pick up the baton from the Laarhoven Committee. The first plenary meeting of the Strategic Logistics Platform Board is scheduled for the beginning of December.
