Happy holidays!

July showed an amazing number of departing passengers. With a total of 2.7 million, the number of departing passengers increased by 8.1%. The biggest increase has been realised within the group of travellers from and to European destinations.

Because of this growth in passenger numbers, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has now reached a higher ranking in the Top 10 of European airports. The market share showed a growth of 0.4%, and consequently Schiphol took over Madrid airport from the 4th place.

In comparison to last year, Schiphol has seen 131,000 more passengers during the entire summer holiday period. This was accomplished because of different factors. There are two new airlines active at Schiphol and the existing airline ArkeFly realised a substantial growth.  

This information is mainly based on non-business travellers, due to the holiday period. The group of departing leisure passengers increased with 4.7%.
